C is for: Context
There's nothing quite like being put in the position of being shown who you were, and who you should be.
It’s such a sweet feeling, to be reminded of qualities or capabilities that I truly wondered if I lost, or what’s worse, the notion that maybe it was a fluke that they ever visited me at all.
If I look back, I see (archived, of course) a social media presence that was plagued with themes and quotes and pictures all representing coming alive– most notably in my memory was a photo taken on a ferry of a quote card from a retreat, little reminders that I have placed on my students pillows when they return to their rooms to help guide and hopefully inspire them throughout the week. But this card, specifically, said the following:
“The truth is that the Universe has been answering you all of your life, but you cannot receive the answers unless you are awake.
You are awake now.”
Over the years, this card has reemerged. Sometimes it falls out of books, sometimes I’ll find it at the bottom of a box or in a drawer. Each time I find it I pause with remembrance at a moment in time I thought I had it figured out, and then I go on to toss it wherever is closest to stuff something out of sight.
Now, looking back, I do think I had that level of my understanding figured out. I learned studiously, I planned and I cared for the things in front of me, whether I was currently taking them on or I knew I wanted to welcome them in. But what I didn’t take into consideration, what I couldn’t see to take into consideration was that there are so many more levels of awareness and consciousness– and to be blunt, realities to reach or experience than the one we are currently on.
While that card marked a crossroads of a path I wish I didn’t take in my 3D experience– when I look at all of the beliefs I hold, my spiritual view says in response:
“Of course you had to take this route, you love coming alive, and you can’t come back alive unless you go through death, and through the entire process, and it is a process, of rebirth.”
