Hi, friend.
My name is Jacqueline, but if you’ve found your way here— you can call me Jackie.
I live in Los Angeles, and for about 15 years I’ve worked in wellness.
Starting off as a Yoga Teacher, growing into Meditation, I built a career by writing about my experiences— mostly travel and the aforementioned career field focus, and the ways in which synchronicity would grace my path reminding me (in my belief system, at least) that I was on the right one.
But a few years ago I began to experience some things that I couldn’t talk about. I couldn’t make sense of them much then myself, so talking about them openly or not was completely off the table.
And so I stopped writing.
Through a series of events that unfolded, my perspective began to shift and I started to see the layers of experiences that I was and had been going through did not belong to just me and me alone.
They belong to all Women.
And so I decided, after a long and arduous hibernation, that if I was going to start writing again? It should probably be about this.
And here we are.
I like to look a the layers of existence and nuance that Women have to face to live, to enjoy that life, and to succeed. A lot of poison seems to be eroding from the system culturally at the moment, and so my goal here is pretty simple.
To look at what’s happening around us, alongside personal perspectives gained from personal experience. To seek out what it means to really be a Woman who’s unafraid and lives fully to her capacity— or at least is actively trying to.
And hopefully in that journey there will be something there that helps you live that way too.
A Woman’s life is a Sacred thing.
And the real goal is to find out how to put that first.
Why subscribe?
Well— I love making new friends and writing, but I love both of those most when I feel like I’m in a community.
I’ve been doing this for a bit of time now, and the more I do it the more society gives me the fuel to go on. While I started off writing this to clear a certain personal lesson I had to learn, it began to shift as all projects do to a much broader scale. Because the things I’d wanted to talk about in my personal history, have oddly started to come alive in the world.
And so I thought it might be wise to take current events and the way that society is unfolding, and really look at them— not through the eyes of either judgment or “expert”, but from the perspective of a Woman who’s gone through the same things, and has both the experience of not knowing better then and definitely knowing better now.
For whatever reason, timelines are colliding in pretty cool ways.
The events themselves? Disgusting.
But the ability to talk about them openly and find others with similar perspectives?
That’s the pretty cool part.
I write every week (which will of course be sent to your inbox), and you’ll get full access to my newsletter and archives when you subscribe. I also enjoy all aspects of the storytelling experience, from the visual components to the research, to audio recordings of each piece, so that’s what you can expect.
In any case, if you’ve found me— it’s incredibly nice to meet you.
And you know, I hope we become friends… as that’s what social media should be for.
Xx,
Jackie
